On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside the South Arm in Rosyth Dockyard prior to 25 March 1973. The photographer is in the quartermaster's lobby and ABC station between 65 and 66½ stations to port of the centreline on 1 deck looking forward and slightly to starboard. The quartermaster's desk with a dial telephone and a clock reading 3.12 is on the right with two drums of foam liquid and a plastic bucket under it. A litter bin, a first aid cabinet and a ten inch circulating fan in the ventilation trunking are on the right. The hatch leading down to the cleansing station on 2 deck is open.
