The photographer is in the helicopter hangar between 72 and 75 stations on 1 deck looking to starboard from the port side showing the lift hoisting chains and gear wheels. A stretcher is laid on top of the ventilation trunking at deck level on the left. A loudspeaker, alarm bell, terminal boxes and a fire extinguisher are by the watertight door in the forward bulkhead. A workbench equipped with a vice is in the starboard forward corner and four fire extinguishers are by the bench. The lift machinery is under the deckhead near the starboard bulkhead and three fire extinguisher positions are next to the starboard aft hoisting chain. On the right is the torpedo stowage space with the roller shutter closed and two torpedo trolleys.
