On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside the South Arm in Rosyth Dockyard prior to 25 March 1973. The photographer is in the helicopter hangar between 72 and 75 stations on 1 deck looking aft from the centreline showing the 4.5 inch handing room and gun crew's shelter through the open watertight door. The torpedo stowage space is behind the roller shutter on the left and two torpedo carriers and a John Kerr dry powder fire extinguisher are next to it. A dry powder fire extinguisher is next to the open door to the torpedo maintenance compartment on the right. Inside the 4.5 handing room are a gas bottle and a 4.5 inch fixed test round made of hardwood and brass.
