On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside the South Arm in Rosyth Dockyard prior to 25 March 1973. The photographer is in the sonar instrument compartment between 16 and 28 stations on 3 deck looking aft on the starboard side showing a receiver/amplifier, sonar cabinets 5, 6 and 7 and the electronic first aid cabinet against the starboard side of the ship. The receiver/amplifier is undergoing maintenance and the covers are laid on the deck. Three standard electronic cabinets are in the centre of the compartment. The hoisting winch and hatch over the hull outfit 15 (sonar type 170) trunk is in the foreground with a combination locked locker at deck level. A telephone handset, an electric fire and a cupboard are against the aft bulkhead. Three electronic units and a broom are on the deck next to the aft bulkhead.
