On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Tartar (1960) in Portsmouth Dockyard between November 1973 and April 1974 during a refit. The photographer is in the primary steering position between 61 and 62½ stations to starboard of the centreline on 2 deck looking to port through the door showing two junction boxes against the centreline bulkhead. Two wooden shelves and a drawer have been built into the space and a suitcase and a large number of metal post bound ledgers are under the shelves. Two tape repeaters and a loudspeaker are against the half screen on the left. A vertical format negative.
