The photographer is in the stabiliser compartment between 53 and 56 stations on 4 deck looking to port from the centreline at 53½ station showing spring loaded valves, the fire pump, an hand change over switch and pipework against the forward bulkhead. The stripping pump is on the right. A fire main and fire hose basket and a number of small chain hoists are against the ship's side. The port fin box is on the left and three wooden crates are on the deck. A vertical format negative.
