The photographer is in the junior rates mess between 78 and 85 stations on 2 deck looking aft and to starboard from 81½ station on the port side showing a settee bench, a cupboard and a mess locker against the aft bulkhead. A teapot and a wire rack of crockery are on top of one of the cupboards. A folding table is in the right foreground. A noticeboard is against the starboard bulkhead and a calendar for January to March 1974 is pinned to the board. The door to the hydraulic pump space is in the background.
