The photographer is in the petty officer's mess between 73 and 78 stations on 2 deck looking forward and to port from behind the bar at 77½ station showing two folding armchairs, two cushioned beer firkins, two kit lockers numbered 143 and 144 with a record player and a television set on them, two loudspeaker cabinets and two beer firkins. In the background are a large curtain, a letter rack, an electric torch, a clock reading 2.25 and two kit lockers numbered 141 and 142.
