On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Tartar (1960) in Portsmouth Dockyard between November 1973 and April 1974 during a refit. The photographer is in the chief petty officer's mess between 67 and 73 stations on 2 deck looking aft from 69½ station on the starboard side showing triple tier bunk units on the left and coat hooks and a stack kit lockers on the right. The recreation space and bar is on the other side of the kit lockers. Two cupboards, an hinged table with a wire rack of crockery on it and a mirror are against the aft bulkhead. A vertical format negative.
