The photographer is in the chief petty officer's mess between 67 and 73 stations on 2 deck looking to starboard from 71¾ station on the port side by the sliding door to the main passageway showing a curtained bunk above kit lockers against the aft bulkhead in the right foreground. On the left and in the background are more kit lockers, a mirror and a hinged table on which are an electric kettle, a wire rack containing crockery and a tin of Maxwell House coffee.
