The photographer is in the crew's mess between 56 and 59 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking to starboard from 56½ station showing kit lockers and a suitcase rack against the forward bulkhead and on the right. A double tier bunk unit is above kit lockers against the ship's side and three small lockers are next to it. Suitcases and clothes are on the deck. This space is described as a crew mess by the photographer and on Admiralty plan no. 000956396 (NMM ID No. NPD1713) but a petty officer's cap is hanging on a hook. A vertical format negative.
