On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Tartar (1960) in Portsmouth Dockyard between November 1973 and April 1974 during a refit. The photographer is in the crew's galley and preparing space between 45 and 50 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking to port and slightly forward from 49½ station on the starboard side showing the servery with the roller shutter closed. Against the aft bulkhead are roasting ovens, an hot cupboard, an automatic emergency lantern and the roasting oven control panel. In the centre is a stainless steel dresser with a can opener and a fire extinguisher fitted to the end. On the right are a dresser with a condensing unit under it, a shallow fryer, a deep fryer and a stack of hot cupboards.
