On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Tartar (1960) in Portsmouth Dockyard between November 1973 and April 1974 during a refit. The photographer is in the sick bay between 42½ and 44 stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking to starboard and aft from the port side side showing the operating table in the left foreground. The surgeon's desk is against the aft bulkhead with a dial telephone on it and with an action tray and an air conditioning unit above it. The ship's crest of the frigate Falmouth is on the front of the air conditioning unit. A wash basin, a mirror, a dressings cabinet, an electric kettle, an hot water cylinder and a sterilizer are also against the aft bulkhead. A key cabinet and a starter panel for the air conditioning exhaust fans are alongside the bathroom door which has a eyesight test board on it. A vertical format negative.
