On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Tartar (1960) in Portsmouth Dockyard between November 1973 and April 1974 during a refit. The photographer is in the H switchboard room between 59 and 61¾ stations on the port side of 2 deck looking aft and to starboard from 60 station showing the switch and fuse distribution switchboard, a fire extinguisher, an automatic emergency lantern and a telephone handset on the left. The Whipp & Bourne Ltd of Rochdale control console is against the aft bulkhead and a clock in the console is reading 09.40. A vertical format negative.
