On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Tartar (1960) in Portsmouth Dockyard between November 1973 and April 1974 during a refit. The photographer is in the shipwright's workshop and store between 48 and 50 stations on the starboard side of 01 deck looking to port and aft from the doorway showing a work bench and nests of drawers against the aft bulkhead. The bench is fitted with a Paramo carpenter's vice and a rack of chisels is at the back of the bench. Shelves and a cupboard are at high level and trays of nails and other items are above the bench. Another work bench is against the forward bulkhead and it is fitted with a Parkinson's 'Perfect Vise' No. 37. A vertical format negative.
