On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Tartar (1960) alongside North Corner Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard between November 1973 and April 1974 during a refit. The photographer is looking forward and down from 67 station on the starboard side of 1 deck showing the unique Fran Kee protective decking and a close detail of the scupper discharge on the corner of the diesel generator compartment at 66½ station. The ship is berthed port side to the jetty. In the Portsmouth Dockyard photographer's list this negative is said to be taken on the "Fran Kee" deck which is the timber clad waist of the ship.
