On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Tartar (1960) alongside North Corner Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard between November 1973 and April 1974 during a refit. The photographer is looking aft and to port from the roof of the diesel generator compartment at 65½ station on the starboard side of 01 deck showing the Limbo mark 10 anti submarine mortar and the flight deck. The mortar tubes are pointing straight up. The ship's bell is mounted on a tripod stanchion just ahead of the mortar mounting. The ship is berthed port side to the jetty. The camera has been held at an angle of 45° to the vertical.
