The photographer is on the starboard side of the quarterdeck at 91 station looking forward showing a stack of wooden bollard covers just abaft the 4.5 inch Mark 5 Mod 2 gun mount. The safety nets for the flight deck are raised. The ship is berthed outboard of the command helicopter cruiser Blake (1945) and berthed on her starboard side are the lighter P.A.S. 610 and the naval armament carrier Howitzer (1943).
