A port near broadside view of the Canadian Pacific Steamships cruise ship Montcalm (1921) at anchor, possibly at Funchal, Madeira. Her starboard anchor is deployed, she is dressed overall and she is flying the Blue Peter from the port yardarm of her foremast. She has an accommodation ladder rigged to a shell door aft and a large motor launch is returning passengers from a shore excursion. A large number of bumboats are alongside the ship with the traders selling their wares, including wickerwork items. The counter stern of another passenger vessel is on the left of the picture.
