The former British Power Boat Co Ltd boatyard at Hythe, Hampshire
The former boatyard of the British Power Boat Co. Ltd. The company was formed 30 September 1927 to use R Kemp's Hythe Boatyard which Hubert-Scott Paine had purchased in the same year. The British Power Boat Company became a limited liability company in June 1938 and was liquidated in 1947. This is a close view of the building in Dibden Shore Road which was built in 1901 as the Murrays Hotel and was taken over for use as the yard's main offices. In 1989 they were occupied by Dreamland Electric Blanket Company. Motor cars are parked in front of the building including a Volkswagen Golf GJT 951V. A vertical format negative.
