The former British Power Boat Co Ltd boatyard at Hythe, Hampshire
The former boatyard of the British Power Boat Co. Ltd. The company was formed 30 September 1927 to use R Kemp's Hythe Boatyard which Hubert-Scott Paine had purchased in the same year. The British Power Boat Company became a limited liability company in June 1938 and was liquidated in 1947. In 1989 this site was occupied by Dreamland Electric Blanket Company. The building has windows at two levels, an air conditioning trunking at the front and a large boiler flue projecting out of the corrugated asbestos pitched roof. A Renault 6 TL motor car KAA 481S and an Austin Metro 1.3 motor car C902 XCG are parked on the left. The jetty of the Hythe Marine Park is in the right background.
