Lantern slide

This is a box of about 50 miscellaneous lantern slides depicting astronomical phenomena, including representations of the moon, comets, meteors, the Sun and nebulae. Most of the slides are labelled "BAA" (British Astronomical Association) and, among these, several are labelled as being from the collections of individuals who were BAA members and frequent lecturers: Rev. E. Ledger, Sir R.S. Ball, A. Wheeler, E.W. Maunder and J.A. Hardcastle. The whole set appear to have been part of the BAA's large collection of lantern slides for some time before being acquired by a private individual. See also AST1122.
