A starboard bow view, taken from the quayside fine off the bow, of the Cunard passenger liner Queen Elizabeth (1940) arriving at Berth 44/45 in Southampton Docks on 20 August 1945 while serving as a troopship. She has an external degaussing coil on her hull and is fitted with a radar lantern. This was her first arrival at the port which was to become her regular UK port of call for the next 23 years. A copy transparency of a photographic print displayed on board the ship at Port Everglades to illustrate her history.
