The Battle of Trafalgar, 21 October 1805: 'Redoutable', 'Temeraire' and 'Fougueux'
One of a group of studies that appears to show the 'Redoutable', 'Temeraire' and 'Fougueux' locked together. The action is shown at a point before the mainmast of 'Fougeux' comes down across the British 'Temeraire', which is sandwiched in the middle (see also PAD8776 and PAD8778). Based on the dimensions and description as 'from a different angle' this drawing is probably no. 100a in the NMM Pocock exhibition (1975).
