A starboard near broadside view, taken from only just ahead of the beam, of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary oiler Brown Ranger (1940) at anchor in Home waters soon after her return from the Pacific Fleet. She has a black hull with grey upperworks and is carrying a four inch anti-aircraft gun aft. The rest of her wartime armament has been removed but she still has her chipchase rafts amidships..
