On board the boom defence vessel Barbain (1940) working off Sembawang, Singapore. The photographer is looking forward from the starboard side of the foredeck showing some of the crew on the horns working on the chains of a mooring buoy. A dan buoy is in the shrouds of the mast in the foreground. A Royal Air Force motor work boat is ahead of the Barbain (1940) pulling away with a small drum buoy in tow.
