On board the boom defence vessel Barbain (1940) working off Sembawang, Singapore. The photographer is looking down from the port horn showing two of the crew standing on the round-down looking down at another two of the crew working on a mooring buoy close under her bow, connecting wires to the mooring chains. The heavy duty mooring chains of the buoy have been hauled up on deck over the bow round-down. Negatives numbers P99801 to P99847 inclusive were taken on the same occasion.
