On board the boom defence vessel Barbain (1940) working off Sembawang, Singapore. The photographer is looking aft and slightly down from the port horn showing four lengths of heavy duty chain attached to a single ring which is attached to another length of chain from a mooring buoy. The chains have been hauled up over the round-down on deck for maintenance. Two of the crew are forward by the starboard horn and more crew are on deck aft. Negatives numbers P99801 to P99847 inclusive were taken on the same occasion.
