On board the boom defence vessel Barbain (1940) working off Sembawang, Singapore. The photographer is looking down from the port side of the bow round-down showing a large mooring buoy close to the bow being hosed down. The main mooring chains in the foreground have been hauled aboard for maintenance and the smaller mooring chain fitted in the buoy has been pulled out to have the marine growth cleared. Negatives numbers P99801 to P99847 inclusive were taken on the same occasion.
