On board the boom defence vessel Barbain (1940) working off Sembawang, Singapore. The photographer is looking aft, up and to port from close alongside the starboard side of the ship showing the named lifering and crest mounted on a stand between the davits on the bridge (01) deck at the base of the funnel. The ship's crest is also displayed on the funnel. Negatives numbers P99801 to P99847 inclusive were taken on the same occasion.
