A port side view, taken from abaft the beam, of the Royal Navy type 81 general purpose frigate Ashanti (1959) under way on the Thames at Gravesend, bound up for the Pool of London. Her pendant number is F117 and her stern is hidden by the head of a passenger on the boat taking the photographer to the ship. Her accommodation ladder is breing deployed amidships. Negatives numbers PM7461/12A to PM7464/35A inclusive were taken on the same occasion.
