On board the ocean weather ship Weather Reporter (1944) in the James Watt Dock, Greenock. The photographer is looking aft from the starboard side of the bridge deck as the ship moves slowly ahead, bound out for her Atlantic station. In the foreground is one of her cocooned 40mm bofors guns. The ship sailed from Greenock at 10.00 on Tuesday 6th (February or March) 1962 for a 24 day deployment. The bow of an EC2-S-C1 Liberty ship in ballast is on the left and in the background is an unidentified ocean weather ship.
