On board the ocean weather ship Weather Reporter (1944) under way off Greenock. The photographer is looking aft from the port side of the bridge deck as the ship moves ahead, bound out for her Atlantic station. In the foreground is one of her cocooned 40mm bofors guns. The ship sailed from Greenock at 10.00 on Tuesday 6th (February or March) 1962 for a 24 day deployment.
