On board the light cruiser Tiger (1945) in heavy weather in the North Atlantic off north-west Scotland during the NATO exercise Flat Rock. The photographer is looking forward from the port bridge wing showing the bow with 'A' turret trained aft and partly covered by spray. The Tiger (1945) was the flagship of Vice-Admiral F R Twiss who commanded a fleet of 46 ships drawn from six NATO nations for the exercise which took place in the waters off Cape Wrath and Loch Ewe.
