The Royal Fleet Auxiliary fleet replishment ship Tidepool (1962) anchored in Cromarty Firth

A port near broadside view, taken from only just ahead of the beam, of the after part of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary fleet replenishment ship Tidepool (1962) anchored in Cromarty Firth. Everything forward of her number three replenishment gantry is out of the picture. The photographer is on board the Royal Navy light cruiser Tiger (1945) and the ships are together to participate in the NATO exercise Flat Rock. The Tiger (1945) was the flagship of Vice-Admiral F R Twiss who commanded a fleet of 46 ships drawn from six NATO nations for the exercise which took place in the waters off Cape Wrath and Loch Ewe between 16 and 24 October 1963.
