A port side view, taken from well abaft the beam, of the Canadian Navy aircraft carrier Bonaventure (1945) anchored in Cromarty Firth. The photographer is on board the light cruiser Tiger (1945) and the ships were gathered to take part in the NATO exercise Flat Rock. The Tiger (1945) was the flagship of Vice-Admiral F R Twiss who commanded a fleet of 46 ships drawn from six NATO nations for the exercise which took place in the waters off Cape Wrath and Loch Ewe.
