A slightly distant port bow view of the French Navy destroyer Chevalier Paul (1953) under way in the north Atlantic off north-west Scotland during NATO exercise Flat Rock. Her pendant number is F626. She is approaching the Royal Navy light cruiser Tiger (1945) to carry out a jackstay transfer of Vice-Admiral F R Twiss from the Royal Navy light cruiser Tiger (1945). He commanded a fleet of 46 ships drawn from six NATO nations for the exercise which took place in the waters off Cape Wrath and Loch Ewe between 16 and 24 October 1963. Other warships are in the distance.
