On board the light cruiser Tiger (1945) in the North Atlantic off north-west Scotland during the NATO exercise Flat Rock. The photographer is looking aft from the starboard side of 02 deck showing Q3 twin 3 inch gun turret firing on the starboard beam. The gun director is also trained to starboard. The ship's funnels and mainmast are on the right. The Tiger (1945) was the flagship of Vice-Admiral F R Twiss who commanded a fleet of 46 ships drawn from six NATO nations for the exercise which took place in the waters off Cape Wrath and Loch Ewe.
