A port side view, taken from abaft the beam, of the aircraft carrier Albion (1947) berthed alongside Middle Slip Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard. She is nearing the end of her conversion from a light fleet carrier to a commando carrier and has scaffolding surrounding her island and mast. Her pendant number is R07. Her bow is obscured by an overlapping negative. The photographer is on board the coastal minelayer Plover (1937) returning from a minelaying exercise in Stokes Bay, The Solent.
