A slightly distant port beam view of the Admiralty owned ocean racing yacht Marabu (1935) close-hauled on the port tack close to the bow of the Royal Navy coastal minelayer Plover (1937) which is under way off Southsea beach bound in for Portsmouth Dockyard. The yacht is ketch rigged and has the sail number 625. The photographer is on the bridge deck of the Plover (1937) looking forward and to starboard and Clarence Pier is on the right.
