A starboard broadside view of the Canadian Pacific Steamships cruise ship Montrose (1922) at anchor in Gibraltar Bay. Her port anchor is deployed and an accommodation ladder is rigged at the aft shell door. A number of small craft are gathered close to the foot of the ladder and others are close alongside amidships. Awnings are rigged over the aft promenade deck and an extemporized swimming pool of canvas in a timber frame has been erected on the starboard side of the foredeck. The horizon is not quite level.
