A starboard broadside view of the Canadian Pacific Steamships cruise ship Montrose (1922) at anchor in an unknown location.
A starboard broadside view of the Canadian Pacific Steamships cruise ship Montrose (1922) at anchor in an unknown location. She has her port anchor deployed, is dressed overall and is flying the Blue Peter at the port yardarm on the foremast. The aftermost lifeboat is swung out and hanging in its falls at deck level, but is still griped. An extemporized swimming pool constructed of canvas and timber is on the starboard side of the foredeck. Local bumboats selling wickerwork are alongside the ship. Although the location has not been given it is likely to be one of the Atlantic Islands: Cape Verde, Canary or Azores.
