On board the Royal Navy type 12 frigate Falmouth (1959) which is outward bound from Santander, Spain from a courtesy visit after her participation in the NATO exercise Riptide III in the Atlantic west of Gibraltar. The photographer is looking aft from just ahead of the Limbo mortar well showing some of the crew fallen in on the quarterdeck for Procedure 'Alpha' (hands at harbour stations). A tanker is alongside a wharf on the right and cargo vessels are alongside wharves on the left.
