On board the United States Navy aircraft carrier Saratoga (1955) in the Mediterranean

On board the United States Navy aircraft carrier Saratoga (1955) while under way in the Mediterranean. The photographer is on the port side of the island looking to port and aft showing a portable mirror landing system on the starboard side of the centreline in the foreground. The nose of a Douglas A4-C Skyhawk can be seen above the round-down, probably too high to achieve a successful landing.
