A close view of the port side of the after part of the Royal Navy light cruiser Belfast (1938) off Middle Slip Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard, bound out. The photographer is on the jetty abreast the ship's stern looking to starboard and slightly forward showing the ship from the stern forward to the aft gunnery director. Her pendant number is C35, the Royal Naval Reserve crew is mustered at 'Hands for leaving harbour' stations and the ship's band is on the quarterdeck. Everything forward of the aft gunnery director is out of the picture.
