On board the Royal Navy coastal minesweeper Thames (1953) looking forward and to port from the base of the lattice mast on the starboard side. An officer on the open bridge is using binoculars to look off the port quarter. The Thames is on passage from Den Helder to Southampton after taking part with other Ton class units in the joint RN/RNR live minesweeping exercise Cableway in Dutch coastal waters.
