On board the Royal Navy coastal minesweeper Thames (1953) under way in Southampton Water, bound in for Berth 50 in Southampton Docks. The photographer is on the port side of the open bridge looking to starboard showing four Royal Naval Reserve officers on the bridge. The ship is passing Netley and is on passage from Den Helder to Southampton after taking part with other Ton class units in the joint RN/RNR live minesweeping exercise Cableway in Dutch coastal waters.
