A starboard side view, taken from well abaft the beam, of the Orient Line cruise ship Orcades (1937) at anchor off Kotor, Yugoslavia. An accommodation ladder is rigged at the aft shell door and a boat is at the foot of the ladder. The ship is flying the Blue Peter from the port yardarm on the foremast and the two-flag hoist GC ( 'Have you seen or heard anything of my boat' ) at a haliard above the bridge. In the foreground is a small beach on which a man is observing the scene in the bay and two people are sunbathing. A canoe-like boat is hauled up on the foreshore.
