On board the Royal Navy coastal minesweeper Thames (1953) under way in the North Sea off the Dutch coast during the joint RN and RNR live minesweeping exercise Cableway. The photographer is looking forward, to port and up from the starboard side of the sweep deck of the Royal Naval Reserve manned sweeper showing the funnel, derricks, mast and bridge. The ship is flying the day marks to indicate she is minesweeping. The ship is a unit of the 10th Mine Counter Measures Squadron.
