Ship's lifeboats from the Orient Line cruise ship Orcades (1937) in the water for racing at Korcula, Yugoslavia. The photographer is looking from the promenade deck on the starboard side aft showing three ten-oared lifeboats under tow of a motor lifeboat heading for the start. The racing boats are using eight oars double banked and all oars are tossed. the boats have a mixed crew of seamen in uniform at the bow and stern of each boat and the oars people are passengers wearing a variety of paper hats. An Orient Line house flag on a marker buoy is on the right of the frame.
